North East Law Firm Shortlisted In National Wills and Probate Awards

North East based law firm, Emmersons Solicitors, is celebrating after being nominated in a national legal awards ceremony.

The firm, which was founded in 1998 by Jacqueline Emmerson, has been shortlisted at the British Wills and Probate Awards in the categories Solicitor Firm of the Year- National and Probate Provider of the Year- North and Midlands.

The awards ceremony will be held in October at the Kimpton Clock Tower Hotel in Manchester and is hosted annually by Jennie Bond.

With offices in Newcastle and Sunderland, Emmersons provides wills and probate services for clients across the North East as well as nationally. Emmersons has introduced a dedicated probate Clear and Clean service, to support deceased clients’ families with the cleaning, clearing and renovation of the deceased’s home, ensuring it is ready for sale. This service is very popular and often leads to properties being sold very quickly and at a premium.

Jacqueline also championed the launch of the first ‘Slow Shopping’ service in a law firm. A scheme which supports vulnerable or elderly clients with private client matters within a relaxed and stress-free environment. The team were trained by Slow Shopping to ensure they can fully support clients at their free weekly drop-in sessions. This has proved to be very useful for anyone with a mental or physical impairment such as Dementia or Parkinsons Disease.

Jacqueline Emmerson, managing director at Emmersons, commented on the shortlisting: “I am thrilled that we have been shortlisted in these categories. We previously won Private Client Team of the year in 2021, which is testament to the hard work of our Private Client team. It is also great that our holistic probate approach is being recognised, as this is such an important part of our client offering.
