Emmersons Highly Commended at Sunderland Business Awards.

We are delighted to announce that Emmersons Solicitors has been highly commended in the ‘Medium Sized Business’ category at the Sunderland Echo Portfolio Awards. The awards celebrate the fantastic work of Sunderland’s businesses and organisations, giving recognition and encouragement to businesses of all sizes.

The judging panel recognised that our firm has grown significantly in size and turnover across several departments; notably within its private client work, which is made up of wills and probate, lasting power of attorney and family cases, with an increase of 74%. Our residential and commercial conveyancing department has seen an increase of 22% in turnover.

Other key factors included the charity work we have undertaken, which has included raising funds for local cancer charities, our work as Dementia Friends, our work with SSAFA - the armed forces charity and Feeding Families North East which collects food for families in need at Christmas.

Emmersons has also been Highly Commended for its campaign to abolish IPP sentences. Our work has been mentioned in parliament, acknowledged by Liberty and Highly Commended for Excellence in Marketing by the Law Society in relation to this work. Our Private Client Team is one of only two North East firms to have been shortlisted twice at the National Law Society Excellence Awards. This national success highlights Sunderland as a place of best practice.
