A Fawdon pre-school has pledged its support to the local community, securing its future for a further ten years at its base on Fawdon Park Road.
Little Learners NE, an Ofsted registered pre-school which specialises in Early Year’s Education for children between two and three years old, was supported by Emmersons Solicitors in securing a new lease on its premises for a further ten years.
Helen Wilding has headed the business, which provides daycare to 36 local children, since 2014. She said: “I am delighted to have agreed to a further ten years within the Fawdon community. This has provided me with the security I needed for the business. I am looking forward to supporting more families in the area and to expanding our services to other areas in the North East.
“Our aim is to support parents in giving children the best start in life by providing educational and stimulating care to help to teach skills from a young age. With the changes in government-funded childcare, it is essential for local and trusted organisations to provide quality and accessible services for the people in their local communities.
“It was important for me to seek support from a like-minded local firm which could assist me in gaining preferable terms to ensure the sustainability of the business. Emmersons was fantastic and Lee Gilder, my solicitor, was very helpful both before, during and following the official process. It’s important for other small businesses to have this type of support as it’s not as simple as signing a piece of paper.”
Helen took over the business following becoming a parent and realising the importance of childcare. She completed her qualifications and took over Little Learners NE. She is now looking to launch another pre-school within Blakelaw Community Centre.
